Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years as a Staff or Lead-level engineer with full-stack responsibilities. Responsibilities

The Staff Software Engineer, Payments will serve as the technical lead for Carrot’s financial systems, focusing on payments infrastructure. This role involves architecting and building core systems for secure and reliable money movement to global members and customers. The engineer will shape the long-term direction of payments architecture, own technical outcomes, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions. Responsibilities include partnering with Product, Finance, and other teams to design and build secure, resilient systems, integrating external SaaS tools, and building accurate, compliant, and maintainable internal infrastructure. While the focus is backend and systems architecture, contributions across the full stack, including APIs, frontend, and infrastructure, are expected.
