Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience, along with experience building and owning large-scale, geographically distributed compute and data processing systems. Experience with data lake solutions such as Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta is required, as is experience with Workflow Orchestration frameworks like Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, or Luigi. Strong skills in Python or Kotlin are needed, along with working knowledge of Relational and NoSQL databases and experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
Responsibilities
The Staff Software Engineer will shape the technical direction and roadmap for the Batch Infra platform, designing and building data infrastructure systems to handle new Affirm products and business requirements. They will build frameworks and services used by other engineering teams, improve the reliability and efficiency of the Batch Infrastructure at scale, and engage with teams to ensure optimal platform usage. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, leading processes for team growth, and delivering on complex technical projects through collaboration with stakeholders.
