Requirements

7+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of technical leadership and delivering high-impact systems at scale
Deep backend expertise, with proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Kotlin, Java, Go, C#)
Experience architecting distributed systems and APIs using REST/gRPC, event-driven workflows, and asynchronous processing
Strong understanding of experimentation and data-driven growth strategies
Prior leadership experience leading a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on
Ability to work hybrid in Mountain View (in-office 2 days a week)

Responsibilities

Own the technical vision for Growth systems spanning onboarding, activation, retention, and re-engagement
Design and build scalable, reliable backend services and data pipelines that enable fast iteration, experimentation, and personalized user experiences
Collaborate with data, product, and marketing partners to integrate growth levers into the product - connecting systems, insights, and member journeys
Drive experimentation infrastructure and tooling, ensuring engineers can launch, measure, and iterate on experiments with minimal friction
Mentor and develop engineers through regular feedback, design reviews, and career growth conversations. Recruit and onboard top engineering talent, shaping a team that’s collaborative, curious, and obsessed with impact
Partner with platform and mobile teams to deliver cohesive, cross-platform growth experiences that scale
Champion engineering quality, observability, and performance, ensuring the Growth stack evolves with stability and velocity
Influence product direction through a strong technical and analytical lens — helping balance speed, reliability, and impact
