Requirements

Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field
Ideally 7+ years experience (5+ with advanced degree) designing and developing electrical systems for robotics or automation
Strong knowledge of embedded systems
Circuit design expertise
Motor control
Proficiency in CAD tools for circuit design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, or KiCAD)
Programming languages: Python, C/C++, or MATLAB
Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, I2C, SPI, CAN)
Experience bringing a product through compliance testing (UL, CSA, FCC, CE, etc.)
Experience developing detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams
Experience shipping products in the fields of autonomy, robotics, consumer products, medical devices, automotive, or aerospace (preferred)
Advanced degrees and deep expertise (valued)

Responsibilities

Work closely with the engineering team to conceptualize, specify, and implement electrical architectures for various robotic platforms (robotic manipulators and humanoid robotic systems)
Develop circuit designs and lay out schematics, PCBs, and wiring diagrams for robotic hardware
Generate documentation for the designs, including block diagrams, test plans and procedures, and fabrication and assembly drawings
Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical components into complete robotic systems
Interface with external manufacturing teams to enhance design for test, manufacturing, and assembly
Implement and optimize motor control algorithms for various robotic systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical systems, ensuring reliability and performance
Evaluate and select components and materials to meet project requirements
Conduct simulations and performance analyses to optimize system functionality
Contribute to shaping the company culture
