Requirements

Candidates should have over 7 years of experience as a Product Designer, with at least 5 years focused on building and evolving mobile design systems. A proven track record of driving high-impact, cross-functional systems work with significant organizational reach is required, along with a deep understanding of iOS, Android, and web platform guidelines and patterns. Demonstrated excellence in visual and interaction design, with a commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, is essential. Strong critical thinking, judgment, and excellent communication and storytelling skills are necessary, as is experience as an empathetic leader and mentor.

Responsibilities

The Staff Product Designer will lead the evolution of Tinder’s design system strategy and execution, setting a high bar for craft, championing user- and designer-centric thinking, and driving system adoption and impact. They will define and evolve the long-term vision for the design system in partnership with design, engineering, and product leaders, aligning the system’s roadmap with Tinder’s product strategy. Responsibilities include identifying and addressing systemic experience challenges, facilitating cross-pillar discussions, designing and delivering best-in-class components, patterns, documentation, and tooling, and mentoring other designers on systems thinking. The role also involves building strong partnerships with product designers and engineers, gathering and synthesizing feedback, and playing a leadership role in shaping team culture and rituals.
