Responsibilities

  • Live the company's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, following up on performance, and providing feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, coaching the team, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, especially protecting cold chain products
  • Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed
  • Remain flexible for scheduling/business needs, contribute to a safe/inclusive team dynamic, and write the pharmacy schedule if directed
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception)
