Responsibilities

Live CVS purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from Pharmacy Manager and oversee pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, following up on performance, and providing feedback to Pharmacy Manager
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, coaching team, collaborating with healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching team on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Remain flexible for scheduling/business needs, contribute to safe/inclusive team dynamic, and write pharmacy schedule if directed
Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible
