Requirements

  • PharmD or equivalent degree and active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice
  • Ability to maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through company-required trainings and CMEs
  • Flexibility for scheduling and business needs
  • Ability to act as a role model, demonstrate genuine care, and coach pharmacy team members
  • Knowledge of pharmacy workflow procedures, safety guardrails, inventory best practices (including cold chain), and state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Capability to oversee pharmacy operations, provide feedback, and escalate issues as needed
  • Skills in immunizing, counseling, prescription fulfillment, and delivering clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing where permissible)

Responsibilities

  • Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues to Pharmacy Manager or Rx DL
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager by writing the pharmacy schedule if directed and contribute to a safe, inclusive team dynamic
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and support patients through clinical care services like testing and prescribing where permissible
