Requirements

Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflows and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize
Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate issues as needed
Support scheduling by writing the pharmacy schedule if directed by the Pharmacy Manager
Maintain and expand clinical/technical skills through trainings and CMEs
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical services like testing and prescribing where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide these services
