Shape the future of cancer care as a Medical Director, Oncology at Natera. In this strategic leadership role, you will provide medical expertise for Natera’s oncology portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional teams across research, development, commercial, and medical affairs. You will ensure the scientific integrity and clinical adoption of our oncology testing solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clinical Development:
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and other Medical Directors in Oncology on the clinical development of ctDNA-based diagnostics.
- Lead development and implementation of clinical strategies for Natera’s oncology products, with a focus on GU cancers.
- Medical Education and Communication:
- Oversee medical education and scientific communication for healthcare providers on Natera’s oncology offerings.
- Partner with the commercial team to develop and deliver compelling medical messages for Natera’s oncology products.
- Representation and Advocacy:
- Represent Natera at medical conferences and industry events, in person and virtual.
- Research and Development:
- Collaborate with research and development teams on clinical trial design, data analysis, and publication.
Key Skill Sets / Responsibilities
- GU Cancer-Specific Expertise:
- Strong knowledge in GU (preferably bladder and kidney) cancers, with the ability to develop and implement strategies specific to GU oncology.
- Provide expert guidance and support on GU oncology cases and clinical trials.
- Comprehensive Oncology Knowledge:
- Ability to speak to all histologies and indications, ensuring broad expertise across the oncology spectrum.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in various cancer types and integrate this knowledge into Natera’s oncology products.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams including research, development, commercial, and medical affairs to drive the success of oncology initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the clinical relevance and adoption of Natera’s oncology solutions.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in Oncology (required).
- At least 5 years of experience in oncology (required), with a background in clinical research and development (preferred).
- Clinical experience and strong knowledge in GU cancer (preferred).
- Associate/full Medical Director designation commensurate with experience.

- Effective written and oral communication skills, with strong persuasive abilities and quick thinking.
