Ability to lead New Product Development (NPD) or projects as lead engineer
Skills in detailed design review of electrical device designs
Training capabilities for development groups on best practices in electronic/electrical, mechanical, and system design for certifications
Ability to interface with corporate legal counsel on regulatory changes

Responsibilities

Act as SME and provide technical direction/support to team members for component material declarations and environmental compliance
Support NPD and oversee Product Regulatory Compliance development for UL/CSA/CE/IECEx/ATEX products; review designs with Engineering for compliance
Develop and maintain technical relationships with 3rd-party certifying agencies for efficient certification outcomes
Ensure product certifications are attained within budget and schedule by understanding hazardous location standards
Evaluate pending/upcoming regulatory and environmental changes to standards and recommend actions for compliance
Attend agency discussion meetings to represent Badger Meter on upcoming regulation changes
Act as NPD or project lead engineer for Product Regulatory Compliance, including hands-on design reviews and leading teams to achieve certifications
Train development groups on best practices for electronic/electrical, mechanical, and system design for hazardous location or CE certifications
Interface with corporate legal counsel to discuss impacts of proposed regulatory changes
Define project scopes and costs for product certification, provide input to schedules and budgets, and execute them
