Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, and have at least 3 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on database optimization and performance tuning. Strong SQL skills are essential, along with experience with ClickHouse and data lake technologies. Familiarity with data pipelines and vector databases like Vector.dev is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Staff Data Engineer will optimize SQL queries for high performance and efficiency within the observability data lake, manage and optimize the storage and retrieval of both structured and unstructured data, collaborate with the Technical Lead and team to support the architecture and optimization of the data lake, leverage ClickHouse for high-speed data processing, work closely with the data pipeline team to ensure efficient data ingestion, implement best practices for database management, troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, and maintain documentation for database schemas and processes.
