The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering with at least 5 years in electro-mechanical design including battery pack design and mechanical work.
The successful candidate will be based in our Saratoga, CA office.
Candidates need a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar; 10+ years of experience in electro-mechanical engineering; skills with CAD tools; expertise with battery cells and interconnect such as laser welding and ultrasonic bonding; expertise with module packaging including integrating PCBs and interconnect into enclosures; experience with production level DFx and FMEA; and experience with mechanical and thermal stress-testing.
This position reports to the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Lead and works closely with the Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Test, and Manufacturing teams.
A strong candidate demonstrates success working in a dynamic environment, with bonus points for experience with UN38.3 testing, a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, expertise with rigid and flex PCB technologies, and experience performing thermal analysis in tools like Thermal Desktop, IcePak, or Comsol.
