MrBeastFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree, and have over 10 years of experience in power electronics design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing. A minimum of 3 years of experience in battery pack electrical design is also required, along with expertise in battery management circuits such as fault protection, cell balancing, thermal management, power transmission, power supplies, and precision analog instrumentation. Familiarity with battery pack manufacturing techniques, including cell characterization and welding, is expected. Proficiency in schematic capture and layout of complex PCBs, circuit analysis using SPICE and Excel, and operation of basic electronic lab equipment are essential. Experience working in a dynamic environment is demonstrated. Bonus points are awarded for a Master's degree, experience with space environments including radiation impacts, proficiency with Altium Designer, experience with automated battery manufacturing and test systems, experience with rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design, FPGA coding experience, and automated test scripting experience in Python or Tcl.
The Staff Battery Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development of a spacecraft battery management system electronics, from initial concept to flight readiness. This includes developing and implementing PCBA and battery pack requirements, use-cases, and system integration. The role involves schematic capture and PCB layout of battery circuits using Altium Designer, performing circuit analysis for power, SWaP, tolerance, and reliability, and collaborating on the electro-mechanical design, test, qualification, and manufacturing of battery packs. Responsibilities also include BMS electronics design verification testing, qualification and acceptance testing, system integration support, leading design reviews for inter-disciplinary audiences, and providing manufacturing and flight support as needed.
