Position Overview

As a Staff Accountant at Glia, you will be responsible for all areas relating to day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, and compliance. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining strong processes, controls, and timely financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring proper approval and coding of expenses, as well as maintaining T&E and corporate card systems.
  • Managing billing and serving as the point of contact for resellers on monthly reconciliations of invoices.
  • Monitoring accounts payable functions, ensuring all vendor payments are approved and paid on-schedule, and AP aged balances are reviewed frequently.
  • Ensuring proper setup of Vendors, including approval, documentation, and ACH implementation.
  • Performing month-end closing activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and Intercompany transactions.
  • Maintaining accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
  • Performing daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  • Filing tax forms with federal, state, and international agencies.
  • Effectively using accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and management to drive sound business decisions.
  • Identifying improvements to automate existing processes.
  • Providing support with annual financial audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA qualification strongly preferred.
  • NetSuite Experience Required.
  • Expense Management and Salesforce experience a plus.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting standards.
  • Strong Excel skills mixed with the ability to find more efficient ways to improve current processes.
  • Outstanding attention to detail coupled with an ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

About the Team

The existing accounting team is comprised of auditors from E&Y, PWC, and Deloitte, so this will be a great opportunity to learn and develop.
