Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience with building scalable, distributed systems using modern frameworks such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • 2+ years coding in Java
  • Strong experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Core, SpringBoot, JPA (e.g. Hibernate)
  • 1+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience providing technical leadership to engineers, leading an engineering team, and/or mentorship
  • Ability to work in the Waukesha office on an as needed basis without travel accommodations

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers developing innovative Cloud based applications in the healthcare space
  • Design reliable, scalable, and secure applications spanning Cloud and on-prem deployment
  • Develop high quality, well-engineered and thoroughly tested code in Java
  • Assign and track work across the team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different parts of GE Healthcare to drive timelines, requirements and features
  • Coordinate with on-site deployment teams in clinical setting (e.g. hospitals) to streamline solution integration and deployment
  • Participate in software design reviews, conduct peer code reviews, and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team
  • Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all the team deliverables
