Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience as an engineer in machine learning, with demonstrated experience in building and deploying machine learning models for user-facing applications, including shipping Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal models. A deep understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts such as deep learning, natural language processing, large language models, and reinforcement learning, along with expertise in one or more of these areas, is required. Experience with tooling in the AI ecosystem, including open-source and cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure), design of experiments, survey design, and large-scale AB testing is also necessary.
The Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer will identify strategic opportunities to improve the Firefox experience using Large Language models, lead the design, development, and integration of innovative AI and machine learning models, collaborate cross-functionally with product management, full stack engineering, and design, stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, and inform feature development. They will also mentor other engineers, drive the completion of large open-ended problems, and lead by example to upskill the team on AI, while consistently demonstrating technical leadership across multiple teams and collaborating effectively with management to build team consensus.
