Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree in the same fields with 6+ years of experience in reliability and life testing of medical capital or consumer equipment and instruments
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing, validating, executing, and documenting reliability test methods and protocols including HALT, HASS, and Accelerated Life Testing
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using statistical tools for reliability analysis (inferred from context of reliability predictions, modeling, and DoE)

Responsibilities

  • Work with product development and sustaining teams to ensure highly reliable products using Danaher reliability tools (e.g., FMEA, structured problem solving, reliability modeling, reliability predictions)
  • Support assessment and improvement in final product reliability, working closely with mechanical, electrical, software, firmware, and manufacturing engineers to characterize and demonstrate design improvements through testing and simulations
  • Make/review/improve/execute plans for systems/subsystems reliability testing, including design, procurement, and automation of test systems/subsystems
  • Support design team efforts for bench testing critical components and subsystems
  • Define and implement functional and reliability requirements of systems/subsystems to plan reliability/life tests evaluating short/long-term compliance with specifications
  • Provide reliability predictions, along with test plans and methods to assess and drive product reliability to desired levels
  • Develop and present methods of correlating reliability test results with actual field performance
  • Interact and work closely with ME, EE, SW, FW, IT, PM engineering groups and suppliers to achieve desired reliability using Design for Reliability (DfR) approaches including FMEA and DoE
  • Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Customer Care, and Quality groups to resolve customer complaints/manufacturing issues during early commercial stages by performing reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development and in the field
  • Own product and engineering design reviews, assessing reliability budget of products/designs and inspiring changes to improve product reliability
  • Articulate needed design changes to improve product reliability and influence/align cross-functional stakeholders on those recommendations
