Candidates should possess at least 7 years of experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably with experience designing and building medium to large-scale systems on AWS, and at least 3 years of experience managing and mentoring engineering teams. They should also have at least 3 years of experience working with AWS, experience building large-scale data services with FHIR/HL7 in healthcare, and familiarity with technologies including Angular (Typescript), Storybook, Apache server, Go, Java, Spring Boot, Python, OpenAPI, Fargate, Lambda, Jenkins, Github Actions, and big data technologies such as Spark and Databricks. Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate tenacity to dive into problems and iterate in working code, an adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical and otherwise.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing end-to-end systems for Nava's government partners, modernizing legacy enterprise platforms to improve public-facing processes and user experiences, and collaborating with government partners and other contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements. They will lead a team of 6-8 engineers, working in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs, create tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows, write and review technical documentation, perform code reviews, participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems, and take part in hiring activities as needed.
