Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop and design advanced software applications for our driverless technology company. The role involves building a highly reliable, scalable, and cost-effective platform for identifying impactful on-road scenarios, labeling data, preparing datasets for model training, and closing the model performance feedback loop. You will explore, prototype, validate, and iterate on new algorithms and models, driving efforts to optimize and refine on-road performance for models on the path to production. This position offers the opportunity to serve as a technical leader, guiding current and future technology choices and understanding the business and operational impact of technology tradeoffs. You will also enable other engineers through well-designed and extensible code.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Three years of work experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Research Engineer, Member of Technical Staff, or a related occupation.

Background, education, or experience must include:

  • Building highly scalable platforms using Python, C, or C++.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, including Linux.
  • Experience with data platforms, including Hadoop and Spark.
  • Experience with building autonomous driving software and technologies, including ROS and PyTorch.
  • Proficiency in data mining techniques and tools, including SQL, NoSQL, sklearn, Pattern recognition, and anomaly detection.
  • Experience with developing and deploying machine learning systems.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and system design.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design advanced software applications for driverless technology.
  • Build a highly reliable, scalable, and cost-effective platform to search for impactful on-road scenarios, label data, prepare resulting datasets for model training, and close the model performance feedback loop.
  • Explore, prototype, validate, and iterate new algorithms and models.
  • Drive efforts to optimize, supervise, and refine on-road performance for models on the path to production.
  • Serve as a technical leader within the department and guide current and future technology choices.
  • Understand the business and operational impact for different technology tradeoffs and balance them effectively based on the company’s needs.
  • Enable other engineers on the team to be more effective through design and code that is easy to extend and contribute into.

Compensation

  • Expected Base Compensation: $180,960 to $234,000 Annually.
    • Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
