Requirements

  • Strong experimental background and experience in hypothesis-driven biological/translational research
  • Demonstrated ability to execute well-designed experiments in immunology and/or oncology
  • Ability to provide scientific leadership and disease biology direction, with a focus on tumor biology integrated with immunology/immuno-oncology
  • Experience creating and executing high-quality integrated discovery and translational plans for early programs at preclinical and clinical stages
  • Strong scientific communication and interaction skills with external collaborators, key opinion leaders, and academic sites
  • Experience analyzing early and late-stage clinical trials with multi-dimensional human data sets (e.g., genomic, epigenetic, gene expression, metabolomics, multiplexed protein detection, or emerging platforms)
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic multidisciplinary matrixed team environment
  • Experience leading and supporting biomarker efforts for late-stage or early development programs

Responsibilities

  • Generate and interpret data from translational and clinical studies
  • Design biomarker experiments and provide biomarker expertise to discovery and development project teams
  • Ensure access to state-of-the-art thinking on appropriate biomarker and diagnostic technologies
  • Provide input on clinical protocols and associated documents
  • Participate in meetings with regulatory authorities
  • Direct the implementation of clinically applicable biomarker assays (e.g., pharmacodynamic, predictive, prognostic, and other biomarkers)
  • Oversee biomarker testing and data analysis in collaboration with functional area representatives, diagnostic team, Clinical Development, and Research partners
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve biomarker and translational objectives
