Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Working knowledge of current OSHA regulations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Self-motivated and detail oriented
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn various areas of the distribution center and adjust work schedules as needed (including early/late/off shifts and other departments)

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Regional Safety Manager, plan, direct, and implement safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment in compliance with all federal, state, county, and local safety regulations
Partner with the Regional Safety Manager to establish safety goals, support onboarding of new team members, lead quarterly safety training initiatives, and assist in the execution of the site's Safety Action Plan
Facilitate safety training sessions and coach team members on daily safe work practices
Conduct Safety New Hire Orientations in collaboration with HR and Operations
Assist in facilitating monthly Safety Committee Meetings
Organize post-incident review meetings with leadership as needed
Ensure all regulatory and compliance audits/inspections meet BJ’s standards
Maintain working knowledge of current OSHA regulations to audit, research, and address safety concerns and respond to team member inquiries
Communicate positively and proactively with Operations, peers, and leadership to promote a culture of safety
Participate in ongoing professional development and leadership training opportunities
Lead by example, consistently modeling a "Safety First" mindset
Promote accountability by ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures across the team
Keep management informed of changes to safety regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
