Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (MS a plus)
  • 5–8+ years of experience developing and integrating electrical systems for vehicles, preferably EVs, off-road, or ruggedized trucks
  • Strong expertise in low-voltage systems, CAN/LIN communications, power management, and electrical architecture design
  • Hands-on experience with CATIA (V5 or V6) for electrical packaging and harness routing; Windchill PLM experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of FMVSS, SAE, ISO, FCC compliance, and validation protocols for vehicle electrical systems
  • Proven ability to bring electrical products from concept through production with Tier 1/2 suppliers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, hands-on development environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for supplier coordination and internal integration

Responsibilities

  • Own the complete technical development cycle for vehicle electrical systems from concept through launch, driving supplier execution and system integration
  • Develop and release detailed electrical system architecture, harnesses, modules, sensors, and interfaces using CATIA; manage releases via Windchill
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper integration with the vehicle’s CAN/LIN networks, power distribution, and hardware mounting points
  • Validate system performance and durability through lab and on-vehicle testing, including EMI/EMC, thermal, ingress protection (IP), vibration, and functional safety
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations (FMVSS, SAE, ISO, FCC) for electrical systems and components
  • Partner with suppliers to optimize DFM/DFA, materials selection, and manufacturing readiness for electrical modules, connectors, sensors, and related hardware
  • Support testing and certification of smart exterior features such as advanced lighting systems, powered accessories, and tech-enabled utility gear
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution for electrical system issues during development and launch phases
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and mitigation plans clearly to engineering leadership and cross-functional teams
