Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in production management within a design/build manufacturing environment
  • At least 4+ years in a management role
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team in a dynamic, custom-centric environment
  • Expertise in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with a track record of successful implementation
  • Profound understanding of build to order / configure to order and final assembly of complex products
  • Experience manufacturing power distribution equipment and switchgear (preferred)
  • Deep familiarity with ISO 9001, UL 508A / UL 891 / UL 1008, NEMA, and NEC compliance standards

Responsibilities

  • Direct all aspects of production, from metal processing and fabrication to paint and electrical work
  • Establish and implement production plans tuned to project specifications and aligned with organizational goals
  • Champion Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the production floor
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and enforce company-wide standard operating procedures and processes
  • Lead collaborations with Project Managers, Scheduling, Sales, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless project alignment and delivery from initial design through final production
  • Provide decisive leadership, guidance, and mentorship to department managers and team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and build a high-performing culture of collaboration and excellence
  • Efficiently manage space utilization within the manufacturing facility and optimize production capabilities for custom projects
  • Evaluate machine resources to minimize downtime and enhance production capacity, while balancing increased productivity and reduced manufacturing costs
  • Set ambitious productivity goals for each manufacturing team and ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Track key production metrics and report on performance to executive leadership
