  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish may be required

  • Ability to perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection in compliance with SOPs, including donor set-up, monitoring and disconnect
  • Perform venipuncture on donors in compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines to begin pheresis process
  • Evaluate vein performance of donors, identify problems, make corrections to expedite donation time, ensure product quality and donor safety
  • Ensure donation process is efficient, make adjustments for positive donor experience
  • Educate new donors on therapeutic products from plasma, screening process, health tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, nutrition and other pertinent information; answer donor questions timely, accurately and professionally
  • Maintain alertness to donor reactions, assist or notify appropriate staff
  • Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events
  • Perform calibrations and verify maintenance per SOPs
  • Respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, create incident documentation, remove/replace equipment from service
  • Monitor donor flow on donor floor for continuous turnover, alert Group Leader or Supervisor of issues
  • Provide guidance and technical training on processes and procedures to donor floor staff and others as required
  • Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing
  • Ensure accurate recording of donor data in electronic donor information management system per SOPs
  • Understand policies and procedures for hyper immune programs if applicable
  • Maintain clean efficient work environment, ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms
  • Follow all HSE and OSHA policies and procedures, promote safety, conduct routine audits of internal procedures and documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information
  • May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
