Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment design, especially automation equipment
  • Expertise in 3D/2D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with automation such as robotics, fixturing, and related manufacturing tools
  • PLC programming, robotics, Python, and related programming skills (helpful)
  • Experience with fabrication (e.g., machining, soldering, electro-mechanical assembly, lathe/mill, 3D printing, welding)
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing (e.g., wafer handling, deposition, etching) (bonus)
  • Experience in GD&T and conducting micron-level tolerance analysis
  • Strong background in semiconductor equipment design
  • Solid foundation in mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on work in the design, development, and optimization of semiconductor-grade equipment for handling, processing, and characterizing diamond wafer products
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to design and integrate complex semiconductor equipment components and automation systems into production lines
  • Work closely with manufacturing and process engineers to develop and implement automation solutions that enhance system efficiency, throughput, and reliability
  • Generate clear, detailed documentation of equipment designs, integration processes, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Lead the development of automation systems for handling, processing, and characterizing semiconductor-grade diamonds
  • Design and integrate cutting-edge semiconductor equipment, robotics, motion control systems, and computer vision technologies for highly precise operations
