System/Network Administration (Full-Time)

Responsibilities
- Designs and builds information technology framework and/or environments and guides information technology projects to produce results that comply with established project requirements and IT architecture.
- Identifies, documents, measures, optimizes, and provides advisement on changes to the IT architecture.
- Ensures that IT architecture remains up-to-date by reviewing and introducing changes based on project requirements and by applying industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Collaborates with technical teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to support project requirements.
- Designs, maintains, monitors, and supports operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave comprised of various hardware, software and network components to include server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Develops and carries out strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture and technology with minimal impact.
- Evaluates new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions.
- Administers network including installing, configuring and maintaining network devices; configuring various routing protocols; troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, throughput, and latency; setting up firewalls.
- Responsible for secure infrastructure and vulnerability corrections, data security, compliance, and backups and recovery.
- Maintains SSPs, STE/STN requirements, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM.
- Responsible for user-level support, including interacting with system-savvy developers and analysts, resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues & anomalies.
- Maintains enclave documentation (network diagram, system names, IP addresses, barcodes, etc.).
- Provides monthly activity reports to include system outages.
Requirements
Security Clearance
- Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).
Education and Experience
- Required Qualifications: TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
- Degree Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus 11 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience
- Doctoral degree plus 7 years of relevant experience
- An Associate's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.
- Degree Field: Degree must be in Computer Science (CS). Related fields (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Information Systems) may be considered relevant if the programs contain, at minimum, a concentration of courses in the following foundational CS areas: algorithms; computer architecture (not network architecture); programming methodologies and languages; data structures; logic and computation; and advanced mathematics (for example, calculus, discrete mathematics).
Technical Skills
- Required Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Docker, MongoDB, and Elastic Search
- Familiarity with Ansible and GitLab
- Familiarity with RedHat Satellite
- Working knowledge of software-defined networks
- Experience deploying and maintaining nginx
- Experience with system monitoring platforms like OpenVAS, Prometheus and Grafana
- Knowledge of SELinux and FIPS
- Knowledge of LatteArt/Biscotti, Netseer, SEAR logging
