Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
8+ years experience in professional software development
Python fluency (Python 2.6+, Python 3.3+)
JavaScript expertise
PHP fluency
Linux proficiency
Database/SQL experience
Full stack web development experience
Solid knowledge of HTML/HTML5
In depth knowledge of responsive CSS design
Wordpress theme and plugin development

Responsibilities

Engineer and maintain public facing websites including front-end development & backend infrastructure, testing, caching, analytics, accessibility, security & privacy requirements
Manage and deploy plugins and extensions; review, design & support existing themes all within Wordpress environments
Engage directly with key stakeholders to support, migrate & build elegant, user-friendly interfaces for large scale external websites; offering customer training and documentation for editors
Full stack development of globally used robust web based applications
Create and deploy virtual machines and AWS containers & ability to manage multiple web and database servers to ensure constant availability, functionality, synchronization and security
Provide input on architecture of large websites and applications; build stand alone modules and smaller web applications for use by clients across the organization
Ensure code is developed, deployed, documented, tested and maintained in keeping with IS guidelines and use of Gitlab repositories
Participate in code reviews, test new concepts and technologies, suggest improvements in technical direction & effectively estimate requirements
Liaise with designers to decide on UI/UX elements (like graphics and navigation)
Profile and optimize website performance, including image scaling
Build sites that are mobile friendly, well tested & engineered for responsiveness
