Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemistry, molecular biology or similar
  • 2+ years management experience
  • 8+ years previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
  • Experience within bioanalytics, immunochemistry, chromatography services
  • Technical capabilities with LCMS, ligand binding techniques
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff
  • Ability to cultivate a collaborative work environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and supervision of staff and resources providing immunochemistry and chromatography R&D services to clients
  • Manage the work activities of group, resource planning and allocation, client communication, technical document generation and review, mentoring technical staff and troubleshooting method and product-related issues
  • Ensure the compliance of work performed within the laboratory as well as working with manager to meet the financial goals of the organization
  • Review and approve study protocols, project status reports, final study reports and other project related technical documents
  • Allocate, schedule and manage laboratory resources for group's project activities and update project status and revenue projections; review timesheet reports for billing accuracy
  • Review data for technical quality and compliance to protocols, methods and SOPs; approve laboratory investigations, deviations, QA facility and data audits; lead client and FDA audits
  • Respond to clients questions and needs; lead client technical meetings
  • Prepare and approve proposals, project definition and pricing; participate in project definition and negotiations with client on timelines and budget
  • Identify new opportunities within client base and work with business development to pursue opportunities
  • Prepare and implement PPD SOPs and company operational policies; ensure adherence and make recommendations to quality system improvements
  • Be accountable for group's knowledge and application of good practices pertaining to GMP/GLP and/or other laboratory/client requirements
  • Participate in bi-annual SOP review & change; ownership of changes needed to comply with SOPs
  • Regularly communicate to staff quality related issues and items for staff
