Requirements

Expertise in programming and applying software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems
Ability to design and implement application architecture independently
Skills to influence fellow engineers by proposing software designs and providing feedback on designs/implementation
Strong problem-solving skills for triaging operational issues and eliminating repeat occurrences
Technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies in specialized areas
Experience evaluating new technologies, considering viability, maintainability, and cost of ownership in Target’s environment
Capability to initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies
Familiarity with diverse technology stack including Open Source, internal developed applications, SAP Ariba, and SAP S/4HANA

Responsibilities

Develop and gain insight into application architecture, distilling abstract architecture into concrete design and influencing implementation
Manage total product, financials, and forecasting
Lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services
Lead and conduct code review, design review, testing, and debugging activities at the application level
Lead functional design and architecture discussions with understanding of process flows and system diagrams to enable design decisions
Participate in routine and non-routine construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring architectural/operational requirements and best practices are met
Provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues
Lead disaster recovery activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning
Embed data quality protocols throughout data acquisition, processing, storage, and operational use
Support the end-to-end source-to-pay process for non-retail goods, including sourcing, contracting, vendor onboarding, purchasing, and invoicing workflow (requisition, approval, PO creation, tax calculations)
