Senior Engineering Manager, Audit Product

Position Overview

Machinify is the leading provider of AI-powered software products that transform healthcare claims and payment operations. We are seeking a hands-on, technically deep Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Audit Product software team. This team develops end-to-end AI system services for automated case selection and review for complex audits, utilizing LLMs to understand medical coding. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of backend services, tools, technical leadership, and people leadership skills, with a passion for developing performant platforms and web applications that deliver customer impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and production releases of robust, observable, and intuitive solutions and workflows for healthcare Audit product lines.
• Manage and grow a team of developers responsible for the backend services and tools for Machinify’s Audit product.
• Develop plans and track production features for on-time, quality releases.
• Identify and address team bottlenecks to increase velocity and reduce pain points.
• Own projects aligned with the company's product development strategy.
• Influence the direction of the underlying platform to ensure extensibility, scalability, and security.
• Measure and report on impact through key metrics.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders, including Product Managers, Backend and Frontend Engineers, UX team, and customers.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experience managing more than one team of developers.
• 8+ years of production application development and backend server experience, including developing micro-services at scale.
• BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience hiring, growing careers, and managing performance for engineering teams and leads.
• Experience leading cross-functionally with product managers, other engineering teams, UI teams, and customer account representatives.
• Strong orientation towards building and utilizing lightweight mechanisms, including conducting retrospectives, operations reviews, and backlog scrubs.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java, Python, Rust, Go, Rails).
• Experience implementing best practices for incorporating AI into user flows.
• Familiarity with standard development tools and processes such as Github Workflows, Git, and JIRA.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and taking initiative.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Excitement to make an impact in rewiring US healthcare.
