About Zapier

We're humans who simply think computers should do more work. At Zapier, we’re not just making software—we’re building a platform to help millions of businesses globally scale with automation and AI. Our mission is to make automation work for everyone by delivering products that delight our customers. You’ll collaborate with brilliant people, use the latest tools, and leverage the flexibility of remote work. Your work will directly fuel our customers’ success, and as they grow, so will you.

Position Overview

The Agent Platform team is at the forefront of Zapier's vision to make automation work for everyone. We are building the infrastructure that allows third-party AI agents to seamlessly access Zapier’s vast ecosystem of 8,000+ app integrations. This role is for a Senior Full Stack Engineer excited about creating developer experiences and integration pathways for AI-driven systems, operating at the intersection of cutting-edge AI tools and reliable platform engineering.

About You

  • Full-Stack Builder: You have experience developing and maintaining production systems end-to-end, comfortable with frontend (React/Next.js preferred) and backend services (Python or Node.js ideal), and proficient in API design, database modeling, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • AI Tooling Understanding: You leverage AI tools for development acceleration (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and are enthusiastic about building systems that enable others to use AI effectively. Experience with components like model context protocol or agent frameworks is a plus.
  • Platform Thinking: You have a track record of building or contributing to platform products with a focus on extensibility, documentation, and robust foundations, aiming to simplify complexity for customers.
  • Empathy and Curiosity: You seek context, ask insightful questions, maintain a big-picture orientation, and lead with curiosity.
  • Bias Towards Action: You create structure, clarity, and momentum, especially when next steps are unclear. You are pragmatic and know when to ship fast versus when to focus on details.
  • Ownership Mindset: You take initiative without constant direction, communicate effectively to bring others along, and possess sound judgment to balance user needs, technical constraints, and product goals.
  • Self-Starter: You are comfortable with ambiguity, can translate loosely defined problems into actionable plans, follow through on commitments, and proactively surface blockers to seek help.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features enabling third-party AI agents to connect with Zapier's platform and execute activities for end-users across 8,000+ applications.
  • Build and maintain tools and SDKs to facilitate quick integration for third-party developers, ensuring an intuitive end-user experience.
  • Establish and evolve the Model Context Protocol implementation to support intelligent, multi-step workflows derived from natural language.
  • Collaborate closely with internal AI experts and partner teams to shape the future of agent-based automation.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from solution design and implementation to testing and post-launch support.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
