Requirements

  • Masters/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of control systems and/or control systems in automotive assembly plants
  • Thorough knowledge of Rock (likely referring to Process Simulate/Emulate 3D)
  • Knowledge of Emulation/Virtual Commissioning process and related activities using Process Simulate/Emulate 3D software

Responsibilities

  • Execute Controls/Emulation related projects globally at GM, focusing on Safety, Delivery, Quality, Cost, and Performance
  • Perform Virtual Commissioning of systems using Emulation software (Emulate3D/Process Simulate)
  • Design cells and execute online on new and existing product programs
  • Supervise and control projects, including scope, issues, risks, and schedule
  • Handle issues to closure
  • Communicate project status to internal customers through meetings, reports, and reviews
  • Lead and develop components in Emulate 3D/Process Simulate library on G12, G16, G22 architecture (Electrical & Mechanical)
  • Develop electrical and mechanical models using Demo Emulate 3D/Process Simulate
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (TCI, TCK, GMNA, GMSA) to complete component development and project execution
  • Debug programs
  • Co-ordinate and lead all Emulation projects (Global & Regional) for Body Controls, Conveyor Controls, Press Controls, GPS, etc
  • Train other engineers on Process Simulate/Emulate 3D software as needed
  • Be flexible to shift and travel as per business needs (Emulation-related or non-Emulation-related)
  • Perform project execution in other areas if workload doesn't support full-time Emulation work
