Requirements

  • US based and required to be on-site at least four days per week at either Billerica or Danvers, MA (may alternate as needed)
  • Seasoned individual contributor with autonomy to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions
  • Specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education
  • Ability to coach and review the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects/processes
  • Skill, tact, persuasion, judgment, and/or negotiation skills to accomplish objectives

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships between employees and managers through a proactive, strategic approach to employee relations
  • Identify higher-level employee relations trends, recommend solutions addressing root causes, and partner with leadership on execution
  • Act as key partner to site-level managers in driving employee relations strategies while maintaining neutrality
  • Maintain the employee relations function at assigned locations/functions, follow established ELR processes, and build manager skill sets
  • Provide advice and coach leaders, managers, and employees on all employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary processes, legal issues, investigations, and conflict management
  • Assess and resolve employee relations matters ensuring consistency across client groups and alignment with Medtronic practices
  • Ensure a fair and consistent approach to Medtronic's policies and procedures to promote a positive culture and minimize risks
  • Serve as a single point of contact for employee relations issues to ensure clear communication and efficiency in resolving matters
  • Work closely with in-house legal team, HR Business Partners, wider HR community, and clients to deliver fair, consistent ER service minimizing business risk and aligning with business needs
  • Counsel and provide partnership to employees and all levels of management on the full spectrum of employee relations matters in alignment with practices, policies, and local labor legislation (including proactive workplace initiatives, investigations, performance improvement, discipline, end of employment/restructuring, labor relations, crisis management, coaching, and conflict resolution)
  • Develop and lead proactive employee and labor relations strategies using data to contribute to a positive work environment, address opportunities, and minimize risk
  • Play key leadership role in restructuring initiatives resulting in employee transitions
  • Deliver and/or manage projects from design to implementation, adhering to policies, and work with stakeholders to achieve results (may act as mentor or direct work of lower level professionals)
