Requirements

Candidates should possess over 15 years of commercial legal experience, with a minimum of 5 years of in-house experience at global life sciences companies. They must have 5 years of experience leading and developing successful teams of attorneys and legal professionals, along with experience working with a business-legal approach and cross-functional teams. Strong communication and influencing skills are required, including the ability to navigate ambiguous environments and effectively communicate across teams and regions.

Responsibilities

The Sr Director and Lead Counsel will guide legal strategy, policies, and procedures for the Drug Product Division (DPD) - North America, managing a team of legal professionals and handling all legal operations within DPD North America. They will collaborate with Division & Function leaders and customers on complex transactions and strategic partnerships, working with Thermo Fisher Scientific corporate functions to support litigation, labor and employment, risk management, and intellectual property matters. The Lead Counsel will also select, evaluate, and lead the use of external counsel, vendors, and advisors, as well as develop strategies for resolving contractual disputes and proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities.
