Requirements

Two years of verifiable experience to perform DOT inspections
At least 5 years of overall mechanical experience
Mastery level understanding of tractor and trailer equipment
Basic computer skills (knowledge of SAP preferred)
Excellent communication skills
Valid driver's license
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs occasionally and lift up to 50lbs frequently
Own hand tools and toolbox
608 / 609 certified
Ability to read schematics and use a voltmeter
Periodic inspector certified
Leadership experience preferred
Basic math skills

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance/repairs on refrigeration units & trailers
Perform DOT inspections on equipment
Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
Maintain vehicle records as required, both paper and computerized
Maintain compliance with OSHA, D.O.T., and EPA regulations
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including brake systems, suspension systems, and electrical systems
Inspect and test vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order and meet safety standards
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on trucks and trailers
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Work cross-functionally across multiple areas of the garage
Diagnose and repair truck engines and systems using diagnostic programs
Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment
Effectively communicate with all transportation personnel, including managers, drivers, and clerks
Read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics
Perform service calls on equipment at remote locations as needed
Communicate with vendors, assign vendor workloads, manage and order inventory levels, lead repairs, and write work orders
