Requirements

  • BS Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Considerable experience in accounting and financial practices within software development
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards as they relate to system design (plus)
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Understanding of the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
  • Solid working knowledge of standard features and functions of multiple applications/modules to field, analyze and resolve customer issues/problems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to define business and technical parameters and lead team to meet business requirements
  • Ability to identify problems, research alternatives, prepare presentations, drive solutions, test to confirm, gain consensus, and implement solutions for multiple applications within multiple functions
  • Strong working knowledge of Data Analysis and/or relational databases
  • Strong working knowledge of financial system integrations and supporting technologies
  • Experience with Stripe payment platform, Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics Finance, or Business Central and/or other similar financial software (ideal)
  • Typically 4-7 years of directly related experience
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Define business processes and system alignment
  • Translate business requirements into system definitions and solutions
  • Act as strategic partner and liaison between the user community (specifically finance and accounting) and the technical applications development staff (may include offshore staff)
  • Resolve system problems to ensure customer processes run smoothly
  • Document financial business processes, training procedures, standard operating procedures, project status, etc
  • Implement system alignment with business and financial processes
  • Provide standard and customized applications to resolve business needs/issues
  • Utilize financial acumen and experience with financial software, databases and reporting tools to develop effective solutions that meet regulatory and financial requirements
  • Identify business system requirements and related business/application solutions over a complete business process
  • Develop new customizations and integrations with design, documentation, testing and training
  • Execute various types of tests (unit, integration, functional, exploratory, etc.) to verify the functionality, performance, and usability of the product
  • Conduct business process evaluations to gain technical knowledge of business requirements
  • Write and maintain system documentation
  • Perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs
