Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (or equivalent) a plus
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years managing and developing accounting teams
- Proven track record of leading the financial close process in both private and public company environments
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP with ability to research, interpret, and apply complex accounting standards
Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly close process in coordination with Accounting Managers, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and SOX control documentation with a focus on accuracy and completeness
- Oversee general ledger activities, including fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies and internal controls and SOX compliance in accordance with US GAAP and company standards
- Oversee analysis and investigation into expense trends and variances, providing insight and recommendations to stakeholders
- Support annual audits and quarterly review processes with external auditors
- Review monthly/quarterly financial statements and trend analysis to ensure that all results are prepared in accordance with US GAAP
- Partner with various cross-functional departments to understand business initiatives and their accounting implications
- Identify and implement process improvement activities to accelerate and enhance the company close cycle and transactional processes
- Drive adoption of automation and AI-enabled solutions to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
- Provide leadership, coaching and performance management to drive accounting operations team development and engagement; foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
- Intellectual curiosity in AI with potential experience in low code agentic models using LLMs
