Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Must be able to complete the State of Florida Pool Service License within 3 months of hire date
  • Mechanical and electrical experience preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a Water and/or wastewater treatment facility operation and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
  • Proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other site specific systems
  • Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow safety procedures
  • Willingness to be on call, work an irregular work schedule and overtime hours
  • Ability to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain, smell, see and hear, lift up to 40 lbs, and work in all weather conditions indoors or out
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Monitor water treatment plant processes, splash pad operation, and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary to control their operation
  • Monitor groundwater extraction wells with inspections and daily sampling as required
  • Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis and record results
  • Monitor and maintain the wastewater collection system
  • Troubleshooting and perform repairs of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties
  • Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintaining all necessary records
  • Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties as directed by Chief Operator
  • Monitor and maintain the stormwater collection system
  • Assist in operation of assigned treatment, mechanical and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment
