Requirements

1 year minimum experience (2 years preferred) as a nurse working full-time within the Emergency Department or a Critical Care Unit
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team during delivery of patient care
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
ACLS, PALS, CPR certifications required
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
Valid driver’s license
Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required
CCRN certification or CEN certification preferred

Responsibilities

Performs patient assessment and provides appropriate treatment according to established protocols and medical command during all patient transports
Functions as the crew leader on a multi-disciplinary care team
Accurately and completely documents patient assessment, treatment, response to treatment and transfer of care upon completion of every incident
Accurately and efficiently responds to all quality assurance requests
Effectively manages rapidly changing situations and demonstrates standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice
Maintains all Virtua owned equipment and property in a safe, clean and secure manner
Performs vehicle and equipment check at the start of each shift. Ensures that the SCTU is ready for service at all times
