Requirements

  • Mastery of English and French (spoken and written), as a significant portion of the underwriting managed by the employee will take place outside Quebec
  • Minimum five (5) years or more of experience in professional liability insurance underwriting
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adapt to a constantly evolving work environment
  • Proven ability to deliver difficult messages while contributing to achieving results

Responsibilities

  • Manage and service an existing portfolio of renewals for management liability insurance for public companies, in addition to producing and underwriting new business
  • Perform pricing analysis using data analytics and modeling tools
  • Promote a team culture focused on collaboration, inclusion, and learning
  • Market presence: establish, strengthen, and lead relationships with brokers and clients, and generate new business by working collaboratively with our broker network to identify new business opportunities
  • Ensure diligent underwriting and customer service
  • Collaborate with sales and distribution teams and other colleagues to achieve positive results for renewals and new business, and capitalize on opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with brokers and clients through in-person and electronic interviews, including making presentations and attending marketing meetings
  • Ensure profitability by demonstrating critical thinking and strong decision-making skills
  • Drive change management by institutionalizing improvements in underwriting, service, and processes
  • Ensure files are well-documented and compliant with company and department standards
