Requirements

  • Significant experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with a strong focus on technology procurement
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills with proven success in negotiating complex IT contracts
  • Deep understanding of the technology market and key vendors, including hardware, software (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), cloud services (AWS, Azure), and telecommunications
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret complex spend data, market trends, and financial information
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency with procurement tools (e.g., Ariba)
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage comprehensive strategic sourcing and category management strategies for all technology and IT spend
  • Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including market research, RFPs, supplier evaluation, and complex contract negotiations encompassing both business and pricing terms
  • Prepare and draft contract-related documents, including SOWs, LOAs, and RFPs
  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, and SLAs with a diverse range of technology vendors
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing project teams to define IT requirements, gain consensus on supplier selections, and ensure contracting is completed by required business deadlines
  • Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities through spend consolidation, supplier rationalization, demand management, and process improvements
  • Monitor KPIs to measure the health of managed spend categories and assess supplier performance
  • Champion procurement best practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the sourcing process
  • Lead the sourcing and supplier management strategy for the CIO organization and technology-focused business areas, including end-to-end procurement of hardware, software applications, data center assets, and employee technology, both through direct purchasing and reseller channels
  • Cultivate strong, strategic relationships with major technology vendors while implementing innovative solutions like global punch-out catalogs to drive efficiency and cost optimization
