As an Engineering Leader, you'll be responsible for building and scaling a team of engineers, fostering an environment where they can excel. You’ll be involved in selecting, supporting, and scaling team members to drive sustainable growth. This role emphasizes a high-trust environment where engineers own their features end-to-end and self-manage their time. You'll focus on identifying and enabling high-performing individuals and teams, recognizing diverse success modes.

Requirements

  • Experience as a former engineer, having developed innovative products and solved ambiguous technical problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to make hard decisions.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle (from product spec to implementation).
  • Ability to identify and enable high-performing teams and individuals.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-trust environment.

Responsibilities

  • Selecting and supporting new team members.
  • Scaling the team sustainably.
  • Fostering a high-trust environment where engineers own their features end-to-end.
  • Identifying and addressing failure modes in engineering management (e.g., being reactive, hoarding information).
  • Making effective changes to improve team performance.
  • Contributing to the development of the team’s processes and developer experience.
  • Working with a team of approximately 10 direct reports.
