Principal Software Engineer Trajectory Generation- Evergreen
MotionalFull Time
Mid-level (3 to 4 years), Senior (5 to 8 years)
Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States
Candidates should possess 3-5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in robotics or a related field, and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in robotics, computer science, or a similar discipline—a master’s degree is preferred. They should be proficient in object-oriented programming with Python (or C++), and have experience with motion and behavioral planning for robots or autonomous systems, alongside a deep understanding of these areas. Experience with aggregation and analysis of data, and a good eye for recognizing trends, is also required.
The Software Engineer will research, prototype, and develop functions and algorithms to enhance the speed and performance of autonomous truck unloading robots, allowing them to handle increasingly complex tasks. They will enhance existing robot capabilities, characterize system performance, collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate contributions, and play a key role in designing scalable software systems for robot deployment. The role also involves taking ownership of key subdomains of the task planning system and providing guidance to fellow engineers, along with communicating ideas and experiments effectively.
Develops robots for warehouse unloading tasks
Pickle Robot develops robots that help with unloading tasks in warehouse loading docks. Their robots are designed to assist human workers by taking on the physically demanding job of unloading trucks and containers, which helps to reduce physical strain and improve productivity. The robots operate in a way that complements human efforts, making the unloading process more efficient and safer. Unlike many competitors, Pickle Robot focuses specifically on the logistics and e-commerce sectors, offering solutions that can be sold or leased to clients. The company generates revenue through the sale of robotic units, maintenance services, and software licensing, aiming to enhance the efficiency of warehouse operations.
