Teachable is seeking a Software Engineer II with full-stack experience to join their Creator Engagement team. This role involves writing, testing, and deploying Javascript and Ruby code, breaking down epics into user stories, and participating in sprint rituals. The ideal candidate is curious, action-oriented, and has a growth mindset, with the opportunity to directly impact customer-focused projects and collaborate with experienced engineers, a Product Designer, and a Product Manager. The role reports to the Engineering Manager.

About the Creator Engagement Team

The Creator Engagement pod focuses on supporting creators in hosting and selling content at scale. The team aims to facilitate early success for creators by enabling them to build high-quality products easily and support their business growth. A current focus is on supporting customers who sell bulk licenses to business users.

Responsibilities

  • Write secure, efficient, and high-quality code adhering to best practices (e.g., encryption, input validation).
  • Develop scalable and reusable code, including creating reusable libraries and components.
  • Identify and own improvements in the codebase, including fixing bugs and optimizing performance.
  • Quickly understand documentation and utilize various testing techniques (unit, integration, stress testing).
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing status updates and seeking feedback.
  • Adapt to roadblocks, proactively resolve issues through debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Align work with customer value by prioritizing features based on feedback.
  • Balance priorities and seek guidance when needed.

Requirements

  • Full-stack experience.
  • Proficiency in Javascript and Ruby.
  • Experience with testing techniques (unit testing, integration testing, stress testing).
