Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of professional experience in software development using C++ or Java. Proficiency in developing and debugging software in a Linux environment is required, along with a strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms. Experience with version control tools and build systems is also necessary, and candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Prior experience working on DOD or Navy projects and familiarity with network protocols are preferred, along with an active or prior security clearance.
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software applications using C++ or Java in a Linux-based environment. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative software solutions. Responsibilities include optimizing and troubleshooting software to enhance performance, participating in the full software development lifecycle, and writing and maintaining technical documentation for software design and development processes. The engineer will also ensure compliance with DOD standards and cybersecurity protocols and work on system integration and testing in collaboration with hardware and other software systems.
