Requirements

  • Experience building resilient systems with Kubernetes, Docker, and S3 at scale
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with batch processing and modern data formats, specifically Apache Arrow
  • Experience with building data pipelines
  • Experience debugging stateful, async data workflows
  • Strong backend skills
  • Experience with Temporal.io
  • Experience with Iceberg and/or Delta (welcome)
  • Experience building tools versus using off-the-shelf tools

Responsibilities

  • Build and iterate on the data import system
  • Build and maintain the source library
  • Revamp the schema management strategy
  • Build resilient systems (logging, observability, testing)
  • Schedule jobs using Temporal.io
  • Debug stateful data workflows by digging into k8s pod metrics
  • Push the boundaries of what the Data Stack team can do
  • Ensure the Data Stack remains stable and production-ready
