Requirements

Candidates should have at least 4 years of production experience in Software engineering, practical experience with go, Rust, or C++ programming language (2+ years), experience using Kubernetes, QEMU, Github, and Grafana, and Terraform is a plus. A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride is required, along with some background in databases or building core components for data processing systems, including query execution, storage engines, autotuning, and workload optimization. Extensive experience with low-level backend programming languages (C, C++, etc.) and low-level Linux concepts, kernel programming, and memory management on Linux would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will join an experienced team and contribute to the design and implementation of compute infrastructure to provide a flexible and scalable yet secure system, expanding the team's footprint by interviewing and hiring great software engineers. They will also participate in on-call rotation, drive excellence through the team and implement the world's best practices, and contribute to the monitoring and interpretation of changes in employment legislation across North America and develop HR policies to ensure compliance.
