Requirements

  • Expertise in administering and managing enterprise Kubernetes environments across multiple cloud platforms, including AWS EKS and Google GKE
  • Ability to implement, scale, and secure Kubernetes clusters for high availability, workload orchestration, and enterprise compliance
  • Proficiency in managing enterprise logging platforms including ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, and Logstash for performance, data retention, and log analytics
  • Experience treating infrastructure as code using tools such as CDK, Terraform, Ansible, Serverless, and/or CloudFormation
  • Strong attention to development detail and ability to produce high-quality, maintainable code following established coding standards and design patterns aligned with security policies
  • Knowledge of full-stack development with varying strengths across the stack, using cutting-edge technology, continuous integration, and deployment
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines with comprehensive test coverage and full ownership of integration between systems
  • Working knowledge of the company’s applications, system integration, and ability to anticipate cross-system or cross-process impacts
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging frameworks in cloud-native environments

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug, and support systems that meet standards and functional requirements using appropriate software languages
  • Assist in code reviews and facilitate activities for approved projects, system improvements, and ad-hoc or emergency requests
  • Administer and manage enterprise Kubernetes environments across multiple cloud platforms, including AWS EKS and GKE
  • Implement, scale, and secure Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, workload orchestration, and enterprise compliance
  • Manage enterprise logging platforms including ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, and Logstash, ensuring optimal performance, data retention, and log analytics
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and SRE teams to optimize observability, monitoring, and logging frameworks across cloud-native environments
  • Follow established coding standards to develop effective, maintainable code and libraries; assist with establishing standards
  • Conduct code reviews with peers and develop automated unit test cases to validate defect-free code
  • Ensure developed code complies with design patterns aligned with security policies and guidelines
  • Oversee and conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding and architectural standards
  • Implement and secure best-in-class software delivery pipelines for quick, reliable, and repeated production deliveries
  • Write technical procedures and documentation, including operational runbooks
  • Build automation for repetitive complex tasks and self-healing systems
  • Participate in Change, Incident, Event, and Problem Management processes
  • Work with Incident Management on resolving application-specific items, engaging vendors as necessary
  • Provide proactive capacity and performance management with recommendations for infrastructure improvements
  • Coordinate resources for approved projects, system improvements, and ad-hoc or emergency requests
