Candidates should have experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google GCP, and experience using Docker, ideally with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Extensive knowledge and experience with .NET Core, C#, or other object-oriented languages, building and consuming REST APIs, RDBMS such as AWS-RDS, PostgreSQL or MySQL, and message queues like AWS-SQS, Apache Kafka, or RabbitMQ are required. Familiarity with software engineering principles such as agile methodologies, scrum, DevOps, and continuous integration is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Python, Javascript/Typescript, or Java, at least a B.Sc. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field, and experience in biotech and bioinformatics.
The Software Engineer 2 will design and develop distributed cloud software applications for managing, analyzing, and interpreting Next Generation DNA Sequencing (NGS) data. This role involves evaluating and implementing suitable cloud alternatives, developing and maintaining .NET-based microservices, and displaying a passion for clean code, loose coupling, and clean architectures. The engineer will be a results-oriented, hyper-collaborator, leading design sessions, pair programming, and code reviews. They will also demonstrate a passion for leading-edge development practices like Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps, develop sustainable, automated deployment and build processes, and practice software engineering principles such as agile methodologies, scrum, and continuous integration.
